Bp is financing solar projects in Spain for 250 MW

Lightsource BP has signed a senior debt financing agreement with NatWest Markets to finance a 250MW solar farm cluster in Spain and a seven-year power purchase Agreement (PPA).

Bp said work on the project, to be built by ANDalusia-based EPC contractor Prodiel, was imminent.

It is understood that the cluster is scheduled to be operational in January 2021 and will provide about 500GWh of electricity per year, with double-sided solar panels supplied by Lingtech Solar and trackers and inverters from Power Electronics for the project.

Bp reportedly bought the portfolio last fall.
